Neyland RFC Junior Festivals
Dates of Festivals to be advised
RULES / CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (Subject to ammendments at briefing)
1. ALL players must be registered and all registration cards will be checked before the tournament starts.
2. All age groups will follow the WRU Pathway rules. All age groups (except U15s) will play 10 a side and across the pitch, with two substitutes per game. There will be no conversions. Restart after a score will be a kick off by the try scoring side. (Other kicking restrictions to be outlined at introductory brief for coaches & referees).
3. Games and Finals will comprise of one half of up to 10 minutes duration dependant of number of teams in groups.
4. Games will cease whenever one side has scored 5 more tries than the opposition.
5. Teams will be placed into groups, the top two teams per group progressing to semi-finals. Two points will be awarded per win and one point for a draw.
6. If teams are tied for position in their group, the following will apply: a) Result between tying teams, b) Total tries difference, c) Most tries, d) If two teams are still tied a 4 minute each way playoff, followed by a 'golden' try if needed, e) If three teams tying 4 goal kick attempts by different players, followed by a sudden death if needed.
7. In the finals if scores are level at full time, extra time will be played in 4 minute periods until a "golden" try is scored.
8. The referees decisions are final! Remember that the referees have voluntarily given up their time and without them there would be no festival of rugby for any of us to enjoy.
REMINDER TO COACHES. PLAYERS and SPECTATORS
Whilst competition is the essence of the game, total emphasis should be placed on enjoyment and fun regardless of the result. Please display courtesy, friendliness and sportsmanship to all other teams and referees at all times. Play within the Laws and Sporting Spirit of the Game. Foul play or abusive language will not be tolerated and appropriate action will be taken.
All spectators must stand a minimum 5 metres from pitches behind ropes and will be expected to keep this distance without question if requested to do-so by stewards and / or referees
